Travelling by car

Take the A4 motorway to the “Gotha-Boxberg” or “Waltershausen” exits (if approaching from the west), then follow the signs to Friedrichroda. For sat-nav, we recommend entering the address “Zum Panoramablick” (formerly Bergstraße).

To unload your luggage conveniently, please use the side entrance (open until 10.00 pm), which is a shorter route than the main entrance. You can reach this by driving once round the hotel.

  • Mar–Nov:
    • €4 per night in the lower car park
    • €9 per night in front of and behind the hotel
  • Dec–Feb:
    • €6 per night in the lower car park
    • €11 per night in front of and behind the hotel

Travelling without a car?

By public transport

Arrive stress-free and relax straight away: travel in comfort by public transport to your holiday at the AHORN Berghotel Friedrichroda. Whether by train, bus or local transport links – travelling without a car is straightforward, environmentally friendly and ensures that your relaxation begins even before you arrive.

Bus & train

If you’re travelling by train, get off at Friedrichroda station, which is about 1 km from the AHORN Berghotel Friedrichroda.

Alternatively, take the Thüringer Waldbahn to “Reinhardsbrunn” station, which is about 1 km from the hotel. The Thüringer Waldbahn runs daily every hour to Gotha or Tabarz.

Bus route 844 takes you directly to our “Friedrichroda Berghotel” bus stop in front of the hotel.

      • €4 per night in the lower car park
      • €9 per night in front of and behind the hotel
    • December – February:

      • €6 per night in the lower car park

      • €11 per night in front of and behind the hotel

  • An electric vehicle charging point with a charging capacity of up to 22 kW is available at our hotel. The eMH3 Twin model allows two electric cars to be charged simultaneously, each at 11 kW. Please note that no charging cable is provided – so please bring your own.

    Charging time depends on the capacity of your vehicle’s battery and usually takes around 2 to 4 hours. The charging points are operated by ENGIE Deutschland, one of Europe’s leading providers of charging solutions.
