Up to what income threshold is a family holiday in Saxony subsidised?
According to information from the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Social Cohesion, no income threshold is specified for the Saxony Family Holiday Subsidy 2025. This is because, in addition to net income, other factors such as the number and age of the children also play a role in the granting of the holiday subsidy.

Tip: You can check whether your individual family situation qualifies for holiday funding even before submitting the actual application. To do this, use the subsidy calculator provided by the Federal Working Group for Family Recreation (BAG Familienerholung).

How exactly is a “family holiday” defined?
A family holiday is eligible for funding if it is a family recreational holiday lasting a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 14 consecutive nights, and at least one parent is participating with at least one minor child. The subsidy applies to family recreational holidays in Germany that take place in suitable family-friendly accommodation. Preventive healthcare and medical treatment are excluded from this definition, with the exception of outpatient spa treatments at the holiday destination.
